Why null?

In code, null is the value that means noth­ing at all. It's where every pro­gram be­gins, be­fore any­thing has been de­cided.

Null­works Soft­ware Com­pany is named for that start­ing point. We build soft­ware for clients and build prod­ucts of our own, start­ing from noth­ing, on pur­pose.

Most of our work lives on com­pany phones, scan­ners and tablets: the apps front­line teams de­pend on, and the de­vice man­age­ment that keeps a fleet con­fig­ured, se­cure and up to date. It is unglam­orous work, and it is where a small amount of care saves a great deal of time.

Start­ing from null means we don't ar­rive with a plat­form to sell or a tem­plate to fill. We begin with the prob­lem, build the small­est thing that solves it, and keep only what earns its place.

When we're done, you own all of it: the code, the con­fig­u­ra­tion, and the doc­u­men­ta­tion that ex­plains why each de­ci­sion was made.
